Pearl's tooth extraction experience

Rather than suffering from tooth ache and taking pain killer all the time, we decided to extract Pearl's molar tooth this morning after taking one complete course of antibiotic.

We were very stressful seeing Pearl crying and shouting refusing to let the dentist extract her tooth. Our hearts were about to drop looking at her struggling when dentist trying to clear the roots of her decayed tooth. Pearl also refused to bite the cotton ball to stop the breed despite much negotiations from us. Luckily the dentist managed to insert the antibiotic into the socket. We were given a Post-Extraction Instructions by the dentist for us to monitor and make sure there is no post extraction infection.

As we had promised to Pearl before going to the dentist office, we brought her to her favourite shopping mall, 1 Borneo, to find ice cream. She was so disturbed and felt uneasy to eat ice cream. She kept holding a tissue to cover her mouth and hug her daddy tightly almost throughout our stay at 1 Borneo.

In daddy's arm, using a tissue covering the mouth and holding another piece of tissue in the other hand. We understand how bad she feels after her first tooth extraction experience.

We were glad that after 15 minutes or so, the bleed has stopped even without biting on a cotton ball. She felt more comfortable and started to join her che che at the play ground but we kept reminding her that she shouldn't jump too much to avoid bleeding again. She abide.

riding on a bear, still holding the tissue

slowly removing the tissue after staying a while in the indoor playground watching her che che play but still wants the daddy to hold.

feeling more comfortable and started to play. She no long needed the tissue after 1 hours or so

started to smile in the doll house, looking at her our heart smile too..

At lunch time, she was reluctant to eat at first. With her all time favourite macaroni cheese, and McDonald porridge in front of her, she couldn't resist. She ate the whole serving of macaroni cheese by herself and adding on a half bowl of porridge. We were happy to see her eating and not complaining about tooth / gum ache.

Pray that she will have speedy recovery of her sore gum.

It is nice that her recovery was so fast! You are so amazing! You didn't let your child be scared of dental procedures and you found ways to make her comfortable on the day of her tooth extraction.
